Andy and myself have had these conifer trees a good 15 years or so .......  so its time to give them a good re-basing and repainting -  as they are looking old and somewhat tattered

They got a new layer of poly filler base applied , then painted and then we repainted the tree trunks and the bristles as well.

I also decided to do a few with a winter theme as well to match some other winter terrain we have, so painted the bristles with a white coat over and some autumn ground cover as though its about to snow or perhaps just thawing out in the spring and the winter snow has recently melted.

So another lot of terrain pieces all done, hopefully have a decent looking table once again.

Andy finished two of his German Bolt Action transport options being his Schwimmwagen and his SdKfz 250/1 half-track vehicles

His Schwimmwagen looks great all painted up in a light winter white wash effect, and is quite a good cheap option in bolt action, carries up to 3 men with 6+ save, and packs a punch with its pintle mounted MMG, it can also be used as a recce option if but cannot carry any passengers if you do so.

The SdKfz 250/1 half-track vehicle can transport up to 5 men and can tow up to a meduim gun, it also has a pintle MMG but has a 7+ armour so can withstand certain small arms fire.
looks very cool with snow added to the base and stuff.

I brought some much needed missile levy for my Anglo-Saxon/Danish force being in the form of some Slingers. I painted them up quite quickly finishing them over a few nights - very unlike me I know.

I have to admit I dont like the sculpting of these guys much , there faces are very long (almost ape like), and there hands are huge (I mean honestly they look massive)
oh well , at least they are all done and dusted .....

I got my unit of Hounds for the Saxon force all painted and based up. The unit comprises of 7 hounds and pack master, but I got them in 2 packs of 3 hounds and master so I am assuming my unit is rather unruly and requires an additional man to keep em under control.

The special rules for the Hounds unit are rather cool, it counts and is activated as a warrior unit, their movement is M which can never be reduced (by fatigue) which is handy. Also and this is the best rule - during melee , both sides skip phase 3 of the combat, this means that skills and fatigue can not be used by either side ...........  very good as both sides must rely on their normal combat dice and nothing is added or reduced  - great if your opponent has loaded up on defensive melee skills and unable to use em ..

Picked up some cheap Hearthguard models , that I intend to use in my Saxon Saga force, I painted them up recently to match my Anglo-Saxon models

Finally finished the last unit of my Congo Whiteman Explorers force  YAY , being the Young warrior unit.

These young chaps are armed with Assegais and shields so they make a rather cheap unit. They only have D6 Shooting and D6 Terror dice, but have a D8 Melee dice so ok in that regards.  Good to see the force all done and dusted.

Brought this Warlord on trademe for $2.50 , not sure what army I will use him for  - possibly for the Saxon force perhaps. He finished up quite good.

I brought a unit of six Eastern Camelmen on trademe a while ago now very cheaply,
I ideally need a unit of 8 - so on the lookout for 2 more of these if anyone has them for sale (or can tell me the brand name perhaps?)

I finished this one as a test model and think he came out very well, hopefully get the other 5 finished soon ,  They are some very cool looking sculpts with a lot of high end detailing involved so rather pleased with them,

I intend to use the Camel unit in my Moor Saga force as unit of 8 mounted Bedouin Scout mercenary's, as they have rather fun rules that suits my play style.

I have been painting up an assortment of different units over the christmas break.....

To start with I got some a few German figures with a prize I won at the last tournament I had been too, so I thought I would paint them up in Finnish colours as they look very similar

I also got a German Gestapo figure ,  I will be using him as a Finnish Intelligence Officer or something similar - or maybe Andy could use him in his German army

Next up is a few Saga units ,  a witch and a rather naked looking chap which will do nicely as champion model

I have started to paint up my Vichy French Bolt Action army, thought it was best to start with the Renault R-35 tank ...... quite easy to paint up and come up rather well I think.

The R-35 was a heavy armoured tank for its time, but as a result its regarded as a slow tank (so moves 6") and also very much under gunned having only low velocity light AT gun, it was also only a 2 man tank so the commander would have to act as loader and gunner (in gaming terms this means you have to do an order test to advance even if the tank has no pin markers ..... but meh at least it looks good.

Andrew has been busy painting up some his Australians and got a few units all finished up and there looking great.

His Matilda Tank ...  pretty tough tank especially the flamethrower version . Andy has weathered up very well with all the mud in and around the sides of tracks and stuff,  also the guy at the back is the tank telephone they often used.

Next up is his fuzzy wuzzy Angels (as they were called) - native Papua New Guinea stretcher bearers to help his medic unit. love this model

Two Aussie HMG units

Aussie Boys Anti-tank unit

Some native Papua New Guinea Infantry Units - led by the Aussie SMG NCO

One unit of Aussie Infantry all painted up and based ,  with a few more to be done.

So far looking great, he still has a lot more to do but loving the jungle themed bases - I will post more when hes finished the army.
